for those of u that have the CGT u all know the driver doesn't get to hear the beautiful sound from outside. since i'm still breaking in the engine so no chance to get above the 6k yet. but what RPM u like the most besides way up there. i just LOVE the sound when u rev at around 2,000 to 2,200. it's actually pretty freaky sound.

Im not a CGT owner, but know several
As for someone standing behind a CGT 6ft behind the car while taking off (say about 3hours ago hehe...) Hearing the 1st and 2nd gear on a take off, its pretty damn breathtaking!!!

It sounded like you hit over 6000 RPM

Many thanks!!!

Arling

They like to breath @ about 7500 RPM

You should bring it up to willow on October 6th and shake it down...

Arling, that CGT sounds like pure sex on wheels...but I heard something like an entire orgy while up in Monterey at the Historics! This 917 was sold at the RM auction right in front of my eyes. When they started it up, it was the most incredible sound I've ever heard other than an F1 car.

(sorry for the crappy cell phone pic)

917-
Lucky you dave! I want to hear one of those. Is it a high pitch sound???

CGT-
I dont know which RPM I like to hear constantly, I prefer hearing the engine rev up under full load blasting down the highway like BHANE mentioned. Spine tingling.

Arling... since you guys did such a good job on my alignment, I'll return the favor and drive your CGT while you stand outside so that you can get the full impact of how it sounds...

....oh boy wait ´till u broke her in and then go out to a tunnel, roof panels off, and then floor it

i know what sound u´re talking about at that rpm range from 2k to 2500 but i especially love it to fully accelerate from 3k right up to 8000+ rpm...

i have a sound file on my PC and will upload it asap...

From 4000 to about 5500 is also a really nice sound.

...oh yea, and about 8200 is a pretty good sound too!

I liked the sound of a CGT peeling out while tagging the limiter along the way while inside the car (typically sideways) - you all know to whom I am referring.

I drove behind Matt a couple times, and the 8,000 and above range sounds phenominal.

The pitch is so much higher than a GT2 or turbo that its hard to believe the same manufacturer makes both engines.

Hi SPR, I think I might have met you at one of the Carlsbad car shows. I had long hair back then, or maybe I wore a hat...remember? I think it was in March.
