Saleen S7 or CGT
Let's see one car is made by a world class manufacturer with more racing wins than any other mark and the other by some guy who up until now modified mustangs.
Don't think a drive is really necessary. Now as I said before I like the Saleen but it is not in the same league as the Carrera GT.

That's what I thought, your "comparison" is worthless.
Every company has to start somewhere. I'm sure, back in '48, dumbasses such as yourself were saying
"blah blah blah, and the other by some guy who up until now built beetles.
Smarten up.

Someone who had actually driven a S7 responded that basically the car was unusable for actual driving on the street and you didn't seem to care about that post at all. There is no way to actually compare the two cars and keep a straight face, they are completely different cars.
Doug H good luck with your purchase, if you don't get a CGT you will regret it though! My opinion is quite biased though!

So the only people who can respond to this post are people who have driven both?

His statement is absolute, though he hasn't driven the S7. If you can't see the error in that thinking, I can't help you.

Doug,
I just drove a Carrera GT it is the hands down winner. NOTHING else compares.

other cars to throw out:
SLR
300SL Gullwing
Original Shelby Cobra
I don't personally like the SLR, but at least around here they're much more exclusive than CGT's (i see about one CGT/week).
The 300SL and Cobra will only appreciate in value...you can basically drive them for free. I saw a 300SL on the street yesterday and was blown away.

'Marsman' welcome to 6speed.
I personally like Steve's thoughts on the SL or Cobra.
Candidly, either car will exceed my capabilities and I have cars now that will exceed my capabilities as a driver. I am looking for something that is very radical looking, unique and has good performance. I, however, intend to drive the car regardless of value issues and will likely abuse the heck out of it, drive it in the rain and probably wash when ever I feel like it which will not be often.
CGT is the smartest choice by far, but they built too damn many. I wish I could get a Zonda and drive that sucker 4k miles year. What about XJ 220.
