Sold my E92 M3, Bought 997.2 GT3
Sold my E92 M3, Bought 997.2 GT3
so, this is my first post.
i had the E46, and then the E92 M3 which i loved a lot. i never kept them stock and my E 92 had 480 hp, the V8 sounded crazy with my modes and i just loved how it drove and drifted (yes its manual).
Now i bought the 997.2 GT3 from a close friend and taking delivery in a week. It will be my first Porsche (wouldn't buy anything other than a manual GT3 or GT3 RS). i hope i can adapt to the rear engine and the car quickly so I can start having fun with it and drifting it the way i used to drift the M3!
advises? thoughts? tips?
thanks All =o)

My wife and I have an E90 M3 (many dinan parts), and while it is an absolutely wonderful car, it doesn't compare in any way to the 997.2 GT3...except for carrying 4 people
The GT3 is a fun, raw car that never ceases to amaze me for the performance and levels of mechanical grip it has. It definitely took me a little while to get the setup to the way I like it, and get used to the light front end, but now I can't imagine driving anything else and will probably keep this car for many years. You have bought a real sports car, congrats and enjoy!!

I did the exact same route. Except I went from my e46 directly to a 997.1 gt3 about 3 years ago. I loved my bmw experience as well. I've had 6 different M cars before my first Pcar. You'll love the gt3 and I wouldn't have sold mine if I hadn't moved up to nyc. Good luck with your new car and post some pictures of your old M's plus the gt3

I am from the Arabian Gulf, a country called (Oman), and there aren't any RS Gt3 's around. There used to be but all we're sold and one got totaled. There r only 2 GT3's available now and I am buying one of them!! I wish I could find an RS, but I think it's a bit over my budget now! Good luck to u
I went from a 997.1 GT3 to an E92 M3 and then when the opportunity arose I went back to Porsche with a 997.2 GT3.
Although I loved drifting my M3 just like you did and the car was a really good daily driver, it does not compare to a GT3 in the driver involvement/feeling.
The GT3 is much more raw, involving, organic. The shifter, the clutch, steering, everything feels more alive, sharp and responsive! You will love it.
On the topic of drifting, please be very careful with this car. It's not an easy beast to tame when it comes to drifting. When the rear end goes, it goes... Not as easy to catch as the M3
So if you're going to do it, please practice in a big empty lot first to get a good feeling for the car.
Congrats, welcome, and please post some pics when you get her!
