Torn between two lovers...
I think the main points to consider are daily driver or not (CGT will be much more reliable) and how 'in your face' you want to be. With a yellow GT, i'm pretty out there -- but I feel driving an Enzo each day to work would be over the top.
If i owned both, i'd drive the Enzo on weekends here and there, but I think i'd keep driving my GT every day.

been there done that. there's no realistic solution to the question unless ur friend end up with both. he can deny it as much as he wants but if he buys the Enzo the brain will be thinking about the CGT the next day. vice versa.

In my eyes this is very easy
If your friend has the money to buy an enzo get a maclaren f1
If not, get the Carrera gt AND a Zonda same price as an enzo, why not have two phenominal cars rather than one??
The carrera can be used everyday and the Zonda on the weekends.

Taking all those out of the equation (as the original post said) I would get the CGT. I actually think it is a better car. I think this because 1) topless if you want. 2) stick shift.
The attraction to the Enzo I believe is 1) Rare 2) Holds Value...etc. Take those out... CGT for me.

HOWEVER, if I was offered ownership keys to either one, I certainly would take the Enzo for obvious reasons.
I would probably go with the Enzo.
Maybe it's because I don't have that kind of cash right now, but when I look at that thing... I'm terrified of driving it. With the CGT, it looks like I can still go on with my business - at least partially.
Anyways... I guess the point is: You can't go wrong.

One thing for sure, I like the sound of the CGT much better than the Enzo. I've been on the track with an Enzo, and it sounds like a wailing cow, compared to the smooth howl of the CGT.
"PORSCHE THERE IS NO SUBSTITE"
A CGT is what you want it to be, I would rather have a car that if I want to CAN drive everyday and not just on the weekends to make my garage look prety. And not worry about maintenance issues and cost of owning one, yeah I know if you can afford one why worry, but why not spend it somewhere else instead of a Ferrari service center. Personally I think the Enzo is one ugly machine and looks like an after thought of a design. And I havent heard of any (could be wrong) that have even made it to 20K miles or km on ist odometer, so far.
Someone else said it here on this post "drive it like you stole it".
And to all a good night.
