Changed brake pads and now a clunking sound

Hey guys just changed my brake pads and get a clunking sound when I brake at low speeds of go from reverse to forward and then hit the brakes. Doesn't happen every time, maybe every 4th or 5th brake application at lower speeds. Is it possible the pads are shifting inside the caliper? I used OEM pads and bought new springs and retaining pin and torqued to 21 or 23 ft/lbs.
Checked the springs (hand through the wheel) and it's tight... It sort of sounds like the clunk you get when you turn your wheels completely to the side and hit the stop.

Any ideas?

It is possible for brake pads to shift in the calipers and make a clunking noise. I had it happen this past spring after installing aftermarket pads. Sounded like the suspension was falling apart when driving over expansion joints and ripply roads. Turned out the pads were a mm or two different than oem and the tensioner springs needed to be adjusted/modified to securely hold them. Should have been a couple hundred dollar deal but before we figured it out we disassembled the suspension and replaced the camber plates and shock mounts (which were shot anyway) so it turned out to be quite a bit more. You should probably disassemble and reinstall the pads and if that doesn't cure it, then figure out what's going on with the springs. GL

I used all NEW OEM parts...pads, pin springs etc. Noise was not there before I did the pads so I don't think it's suspension related.

Thanks for the input.

My oem pads did this, my pfc do this. If it bothers just put a bit of that pad squeal goo on the back that touches the pistons and should minimize it. Pads are just moving around a bit.

How will pad squeal goo help with the pads moving? Will that not help slide around easier?

I may take the spring and pin off and bend the spring to make it tighter.
