You might want to wait for the rumored Cayman GT4 or if you are impatient the Cayman R is also a great track car with creature comforts in your price range.

Based on your and others' comments, I'm tempted to go with the 991 GT3, but part of my thought process is I don't want to take a $100k+ car to the track. I already have a car like that and I don't drive it 10/10ths on the track because of it's value. Having a track accident/incident in an $80k car isn't great, but it's better than one in a $150k car.
Im confused, you want a 991 GT3, but don't want to spend more then 100K…aint gonna happen. You won't even find a 997.2 GT3 for that money any more these days, unless with higher miles mostly.

There is a red 997.2 GT3 for 100K listed on RL that is nicely spec'd. Prices may slowly still climb like RS pricing.

Nope, not expecting to buy a 991 GT3 for under $100k. I'm saying a 991 GT3 is tempting, but not an option as I'd like to spend less. Was that not clear?

Dave, some info on the Cayman GT4. Looks great! I'm just curious where the price point will be http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...ayman-race-car

In Canada its rumored to be around 100K.

Its going to be an amazing car…I'll def be looking to get into one perhaps as long as it has 385HP, but Im guessing around 375hp out of the base 3.4L.

Sounds great, although I'm guessing this is a track only car?

If the rumors are true, it would be street legal and be the GT3 of the Cayman line.

Dave,

Here's the official announcement on the GT4. Looks great and the price point is excellent! I'm shocked they aren't offering the PDK. It's awesome that they have the 6 speed but my guess is they need to keep it slower than the 911 so slower trans is an easy option that will keep the purists happy.

Yeah, I saw that. The car looks awesome! Alas, my plans have changed and I'm now saving my pennies for a downpayment on a house, so the new car will have to take a back seat.
