Im telling ya ,Wrap its the way to go especially if you plan on keeping your car.
I have the wrap on my race car a gt2 and a gt40.Trust me its worth the money not to have to worry about your paint. You will also save a bunch in detailing.Just be sure your get Xpel extreme

$8k is ridiculous. Get another quote. I paid $4800. For the entire car with a 10 year warranty.

It's worth it -- you can touch up rock chips but that still isn't ideal. Plus as stated, it saves money on detailing, and time.

not worth it if doing clear bra look
but if going matte or another color it could be worth the money
saw a blue 991gt3 with matte wrap and black on the front trunk. looked amazing and way more special than just stock

Question is, do gt3s have clear film protection ahead of rear fender same other 911s? If so, is it worth wrapping the whole car, just the front or front and rockers back to and replace rock guard for the rear fender?
I would do full front bumper, full hood, full fenders. I did full doors and rockers. I took the side rock guards off and covered the whole area all the way to the rear wheels.

On top of that, I wrapped the whole car riviera blue. So the clear bra is 8mil thick and the wrap adds another 4 mil of protection.

Just had my white GT3 wrapped entirely with Xpel Ultimate, as are all the rest of my cars. I always get the car polished/detailed sans wax before applying wrap. It just presents the car better when everything is said and done. Besides you don't want any marks, knicks, swirls, that could have been taken out with a polish only to show through after the wrap because you skipped that step.

However the clear bra does almost act as a new layer of clear coat so it does help hide some light swirls and what not.

None of my other cars have seen any discoloration with the Xpel products (oldest one about 1.5 yrs) so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I do believe Xpel has a 10yr warranty against yellowing so you should be covered under those circumstances. As it stands right now, you probably couldn't tell any difference in the white after the wrap.

More importantly I can't tell you the number of times the wraps have saved me heartaches. You can be as careful as you want but other people out there.....

A friend used Expel Ultimate on his white GT3 RS. The film looks great. The only issue was the film on the rear quarters. The heat from the mufflers caused the film to take on a light yellow cast. The installer replaced the film no questions asked.
