Ride
Ride
I have been a bit perplex considering the ride of my 991 GT3 compared to older model. While I didn't own one I had driven one and found ride a lot harsher.
To my surprise, I find my car to ride very well. Kind of strange as it is sprung quit firm yet ride is very compliant and not jarring in any way.
While shocking may make this difference I happen to think the 991s came with 20 in wheels and tires. Look thought tire rack and find that the front tire on the 991 is over one inch in total diameter larger and rear is just under one inch larger. Wonder how much of an affect this is?

I did own a 997.2 GT3 and can confirm that the ride was much harsher on it than the 991 GT3. It's primarily to do with the front track of the 991 being wider (1in I think) than its predecessor. It makes a massive difference to the ride characteristics of the car. Of course there are other differences and enhancements that contribute to the overall ride as well.
I too find the ride in the 991 GT3 so much more road compliant and versatile. It's been done without compromising the required performance and handling when the car is pushed hard. IMO the two cars are different each special in their own way. My preference.... the 991 GT3 hands down!
