997.1 GT3 lsd
hey GT3 owners,
really hope you guys can help me, am in process of buying a new LSD and am thinking about the Quaife ATB as i don't track, even if i will it's going to be once or twice a year that's why i think this type is mutch better than the clutch type, anyways am confused which part number in the Quaife fits on the GT3 997.1 model, and if anyone knows any shop that have it in stock cuz where i wanted to order told me that i need to wait for 6 weeks, i really don't want to wait.
hope to hear from you guys and thanks in advance

A big NO NO NO!
First of all, a Torsen diff don't provide locking on the overrun (braking), which is where a GT3 needs it the most. There is a reason the 997 GT3 has a LSD with 28/40 locking (more lock on braking than acceleration).
A GT3 is a motorsport product and needs a motorsport diff, i.e. clutch type LSD and not Torsen.
Second it will be much more expensive with a new diff as the ring and pinion has to be reset - big job.
Rebuilding the OEM diff with Guards internals (or Porsche Motorsport) is low cost and highest quality, no reset of R/P needed.
I think your car will loose value big time with a Toresen diff compared to a well working LSD.
Do a search here, plenty of information already. Start with the LSD Buster thread and enjoy.
