dip stick dry GT3

After an oil change on my 04 996 gt3 I wanted to double check the oil level
with the dip stick and although the electronic gauge showed full ( and it was as
I put a little bit more than 8.5 litters of mobile 1 in the engine ), the dip stick was
dry. After a 2 hours drive it was showing only minimum , electronic still at full .
Any experience to share on that ? Thanks !

No - but I am interested in the replies as I tend to rely on the electronic almost exclusively (2007)

Here's a good resource for the 997 GT3, the 996 should be similar.

Thanks a lot for this but it's not exactly my case.
The electronic reading is correct but the dip stick is dry .After 2 hours drive the dip stick is showing minimum ( better than nothing ), electronic still at full ! 997 have no dip stick anymore , am I right ? All those readings were made " by the book " , and as I was told by
Porsche , the reading is measured in the oil tank for both , so the mystery remains...

Sorry, just trying to help. I just picked up my 7.1 GT3 a couple days ago, so not sure if it has a dipstick. Maybe try posting your question over at Rennlist 996 GT3 section.

When fully warmed up, my electronic gauge shows full and my dipstick shows right at the middle mark. Just FYI.
