porsche performance driving questions

I just booked a 2 day driving class at Birmingham AL, and I have a couple questions:
1. Where to stay and what to do around town in the evening?
2. Is the damage waiver a good call?
3. What to expect since this is my first time doing this with porsche. I did M-driving class before but I heard this is totally different.
Thanks guys

1. They encourage most people to stay at the Marriott on the southside of Birmingham.

2. Damage waiver is cheap insurance for a brain fart.

3. In my class we broke up into groups of five. We each got into a car that had video and audio communication. The instructor was in the lead car and you followed. You pretty much drive every car they make except for a turbo or a GT3. The offroad segment was impressive. The wet skid pad was also very useful.

Can recommend an interesting restaurant: The Bright Star in Bessemer on the southwest side of Birmingham. The oldest Greek restaurant in the south. They say they were inspired by Galatoire's in New Orleans.
