New Buyer Help: Things to know before?

Hi guys,

I bought a 911s aero last year and wanted a gt3 for a while, but wasn't on the list and the prices were pretty ridiculous in the used market. Right now, I seem to have come across a bunch of used ones available at my local dealerships at more "reasonable" prices, so I am heavily considering trading my 911s in towards a 2014 or 2015 gt3 this XMAS.
But the change in price from a few months ago, the different year, varying options and mileage, and expected resale value have all left me a bit confused.

Do you guys know if there is any particular reason why there now seem be quite a few cars available, at least on the NE coast? the craze is somewhat over?

The car I am looking at is a 2014 with about 6800 miles, with a short list of mostly aesthetic options (carbon interior, decorative stitching, sound plus, led lights, chrono clock, carbon with leather interior)... I was really looking for a car with sport buckets and the lift, but cant find one locally...I have found cars with more options and the lift (no buckets) for about 12k more than this one but it doesn't seem worth it; is this build missing anything that will take away from daily enjoyment or resale value? it is a certified pre owned with extended warranty, to my knowledge.

Is the mileage high (I know this sounds crazy, but my current 911s has 3800 miles after a year...the dealer has other options with closer to 2k miles and 2015's but those are about 15k more than this car, and I prefer the color of this 2014 - is the 2015 and lighter mileage worth 15k more?). Is a 2015 with 2k or so miles worth 15k more? Will I likely get that cash back on resale?

Also, since I am coming from an aerocup right now, I assume the lack of a lift and a gt3 wont be anything surprising - does anybody know if the bumper clearance is worse/better than what I currently have?

in general, I was also wondering if anybody can explain why there seem to now be so many available and the price has come down (for instance, between my two local dealerships, there are abou 6 used ones available and its the dead middle of winter, so I was thinking I could get a decent deal) - do you still expect these cars to be sound investments - or have I missed that bubble? I plan on daily driving it, about 8k miles or so a year (tops) - and selling in 2-3 years, depending on value, etc.

Also, would anybody happen to know if standard winter tires from a 911s riding on Carrera s 20s would fit on a gt3 with gt3 20s? I don't know the sizes off the top of my head...

could anybody educate me on when the "next" gt3 is expected to arrive/delaers take orders? I googled and saw so much garbage that I gave up. I understand it is largely an estimate, but since we are paying near sticker for "3 year old cars" if buying a 2014, I am wondering if putting down a deposit on the next run is smarter (if that is still even possible, since I am in no particular rush for the car).

anyways, I am sorry for the rambling - I am just mainly confused if now is the time to pull the trigger and whether this is a smart car to buy. I know I love the gt3, but I don't mind waiting another year or so and getting something newer then, if that is wiser.

thanks a lot

can anybody tell me what production dates for 2014 models were subject to the engine swap? I was told cars built after 8-9/2013 were safe and already had the new "engines" from the get go? I read and was told varying things - the dealer said they didn't know, which seemed odd.

thanks in advance.
