After driving the CGT for some time now, I can see how this vehicle can be deadly in the hands of unskilled drivers. This car demands a great deal of respect. And NEVER NEVER take the TC off!!!

Yes there was one in Dana Point that wrecked, caught fire and split into three pieces last friday. On stonehill dr. near to the st. regis and the ritz carlton. Both walked away unhurt, thank god. It was also black.

That black GT in Dana Point area was a friend of mine. Sucks that it happened to him and to a GT.

If anything, it will just make me that much more careful and respectful of the car's power.

I know someone here in Hialeah that can fix that car ...JK

The more I read and after a few rides I am begining to realize this is a dangerous vehicle in the hands of many people who dont have the skills to drive this car on the street. You have to respect the power and awesome capabilities of this car.

As well when the great Walter Rhole crashed 3 during testing alone makes you wonder...

I would think Porsche should be rightfully proud of the engineering - this car did exactly what they intended in a high speed catastrophic accident.

The problem is how do you know if your skilled enough to drive this beast? Is it when you crash it and hopefully walk away unscathed? The car needed more safety features and no amount of rationalization that it is the driver responsiblity will change it. It is what it is.

you are right you never know...problem is having the money to buy a car like this and actually knowing how to drive it are two different things. owning a super car does not make you a good driver, skills and practice like anything else.

The CGT is an interesting beast to say the least. In my owners manual, there is actually a page that says "children should not sit in this vehicle at any time"

Sounds like something a lawyer would say, why don't you start a class action lawsuit.

At what point do people take responsibility for their own actions? How did people drive powerful vehicles before computers were added to adjust for our screwups?

I agree, dangerous cars have been around for a long time, honestly there are alot of cars that were released in europe and not the U.S. that were just as hard to drive throughout the years, this is just one of the first instances we see here in the U.S. where anyone with the money can buy a car that is a street legal race car. People know what they are getting when they buy the car, and most want to show it off, some are successful and some arent.
