It is very telling that most if not all of the incidents involving the CGT are single car accidents. I suspect it is only a matter of WHEN and not if with this car.

BTW, Porsche is being sued for the CGT and its dangerous propensities.

 

My guess is if you do a check you will find most ferrari and lambo accidents are also single car. I don't think it is a shock to imagine all of these cars tend to end up in single car. No more than a month has gone by in so. cal where I haven't heard about somebody killing themselves in a 360 spider by wrapping it around a tree in their neighborhood after dark.

Ferrari got sued for inaccurate speedos on Challenge Stradales...big deal...

 

When you buy a CGT you know it is a supercar. When you buy a supercar you know that it will be fast. So if you end up crashing it because it was too much car for you and you sue.....you should get kicked in the ***** and sent on your way.

 

+1, and I wonder if this is also the case for most sports cars in general.

I think the CGT gets so much attention due to the cost/exclusivity/exotic factor, and when someone crashes it, that attention is intensified. Nothing new.

IMO, most modern sports cars have power and handling potential far beyond what [most] owners can master on the street. The limits of mechanical grip are very high, and when that limit is breached on a public road, however briefly, the distance traveled due to the higher speed doesn't allow for recovery time or distance before going off the roadway or hitting an adjacent stationary object.

 

I would like to add to this discussion by stating that I have NEVER been close to wrecking my CGT, or my GT700 for that matter, I have never even been in a sticky situation with either car. But, I can see how someone could easily kill themselves in either one of these vehicles (and the V12 Benzes for that matter). I love power and speed, but I also have a great deal of respect for both. I have a great deal of track experience in high hp cars and I know that 600+ hp can turn deadly quick! If you treat these cars with respect you should have no problems. I would venture to say, that the majority of 1 car accidents with high hp cars (CGT, Viper, Z06, Ferrari, etc.) were caused by drivers who had very little experience/respect with high hp vehicles.

And whatever you do, for God sakes, DON'T TURN OFF THE TC IN THE CGT!!!!!
