Friend of mine has 3.6L GT3 and his car has over 60,000miles and 95% of those are hard track miles.

I have owned 997.1 Gt3 and a 991.1 GT3

While both are great cars the 991 is superior in every way and by far more fun and the best P car I ever owned .

Regarding reliability The 991.1 now has 120,000 mi /10 year engine warranty.
I suggest Porsche has confidence in its reliability.

BTW Im selling it only because I just got an.1 RS

Mooty said: "991 is too new i dont have enough data to say what it will be long term, though i like the chassis very much and still has mine.

997.2 is very good. i prefer it over 997.1 but you asked which is more reliable. the 3.6 are less stressed. i like the 3.8 and 4.0 motor a lot more. but they are more high strung so slightly less reliable.

but we are really splitting hairs here."

Question:
Mooty, as the owner of a 997.1 GT3RS, I am curious as to how the 3.8 and 4.0 are more highly stressed than my 3.6 RS? Are the cam profiles more aggressive, or is the compression significantly higher? Thanks in advance.
