Question My GT3 Jinx Continues

Well I finally got my tire and had it installed yesterday. Big problem. The original reason I brought the car in for still exists. The car is very floaty and all over the road. The dealer thought it was the tire which had a nail and needed to be replaced anyways but thinks it might be the adjustable springs. Hopefully it can get resolved today. Friday will be two weeks with no GT3(although the dealer was extremely nice and gave me a Cayenne loaner).

Who are you dealing with at Braman??? If you aren't already you should speak with Dave. E., let him know the kid with the yellow turbo and loud exhaust sent you

Tony, ... sorry to hear the car is at Braman. They couldn't align a key to put in a door. Have had many complaints from people after car was worked on for same issues.

Solution: Rudy at Champion Porsche. No one better I can assure you.

Theo:

Is it just me, or do you get the feeling a lot of Porsche dealers/techs don't know how to tune coilovers???

Chris,..... the problem runs quite deep actually. Porsche themselves do not provide adequate training and knowledge on how to fine tune these cars for track use or simple DE set up. Sad when some techs can't even align a car to normal factory specs. The unfortunate reality is that all dealer techs for the most part, are just parts replacers ....... nothing more.

In order to get a good alignment for example, one has to go to a dealer or private shop where they have the proper personel who know what they are doing. Like Rudy at Champion for example. 901 shop, Turbo Werks, Orbit Racing, these guys know what they are doing up in the area where Tony lives. Really no other options.

Theo...

Yup...It's sad, when you buy a 100k car and advertised as a track going car, they should have techs trained... The guy at my dealership thinks adjusting the height to "even with the fender" is the way to go! Let's just say I haven't visted them again, even though they are the only dealer in town

It ended up being a defective rear tire. Suspension and alignment were ok. Should have the car back tomorrow(Hopefully).

Tony, I would imagine you are happy to hear it was the tire and not a problem with the suspension.

It was the other rear tire that was not yet replaced. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 2. I wish the Rosso was available, but I called Pirelli and they don't know when they will be available in the US.

It's available, but not in the GT3 OEM configuration. Pirelli themselves didn't know when it would be available. They did show it in their catalog, but without a release date.
