I will rather spend another $45-50K for a new 997 GT3

A: Both the GT3 and Z06 are streetcars. But yes a test like that would tell a lot about each car but it's a bit extreme IMO.Originally Posted by iceman996
Why? there is a very simple test you can do: take both 2 stock car to a long track such like Nürburgring, and driving both at NON-STOP(stop for gas only) by pushing 100% for 3 hours, who can last, who is the winner.
B: I too would think the Porsche would outlast a Z06 if driven 100% for 3 hours, but then again the GT3 is much more expensive and SHOULD last longer.
You may get what you pay for in terms of quality, materials etc but performance wise they are alot closer than their pricetags.

I think some of you are being a bit nearsighted, the ZO6 is an amazing performance car, you can talk about its characteristics all you want but the numbers don't lie.
I love the GT3, its an amazing car, but I'm not stupid.

The GT3's you see racing in those races don't share a lot w/ the street car
can't even compare them like that. Last I noticed Corvette did pretty well at LeMans and Sebring.

Are we talking about street car here? This is like you compare JGTC with steet mod...Originally Posted by 05997S

I know that is a stretch but my point was that while GT3's run GT2 the C6R runs GT1. I like the Speed World Challenge GT series because that is modified C6's running against 997's. I would have to check the specs on those races but the 997/C6 are pretty competitive with one another.Originally Posted by HotRodGuy

As I said before I would probably buy a GT3 over the ZO6 but they are both pretty amazing, you may give away some feedback and visceral feel in the Corvette but it is blistering fast. It will be fun to see some head to head battles in the coming years.

Not sure why that is so funny, just pointing out that some people drink the P-car kool aid and ignore some of the facts when talking about other marks.Originally Posted by SmoothCab
