GT3 - enough HP to be exciting?
The GT3 likes to be pushed hard. On the street it does not reveal all of its personality. Yes, it doesn't have the torque monster engine of a Z06, so in the straight line on the highway, it doesn't give you that push in the back. However, on the track, it is a dream. It is agile, beautiful, powerful, competent, dangerous, sneaky, etc, etc.
Whenever I leave the track, I start to get withdrawls because it is THAT GOOD of a car. It was born to be at the track, not so much the street.

The bottom line is if your interest is mainly acceleration the TT is the car for you if however your interest is maximum handling characteristics, a less isolated more involved driving experience, a more responsive high revving motor then the GT3 is the right car. After attending the Porsche driving school and spending more time on the track my own personal interest went towards the GT3's characteristics.
GT3's are way more fun to drive than AWD turbo's
I have had them all including a big HP GT2
The GT3 has a certain character that the AWD cars lack...the 3 has a great personality and everytime I drive one I exit the car with a big smile on my face...doesn't get much better than that...for what it lacks in power it makes up everywhere else

I have questioned myself alot too with this same exact thing. I LOVE power, but there is just something about a na, high revving WORK FOR THE POWER nimble RWD car, ahh deep breath. As you can see, i love them just as much as the thrill of my turbo, fact of the matter is, even though im a power hungry freak, i still even have more fun in a stock M3 compared to my turbo, i cant even imagine the thrills of the new GT3
clearly, you've never been in a gt3, 996 or 7, when it's *** is hangin out at 165mph in an off camber long sweeper and a wall staring you in the face. Now, put a guy doing the same on your right and left...still having fun ? HP means nothing if you can't put it to good use, or better yet, only know how to use it in a straight line.
The fact is, the question asked begs the question...
One word - Momentum.
FWIW, I have driven and raced vintage junkers with 75hp and full active aero cars with over 1000hp. At the end of the day, each one proves equally enjoyable. It's all about what you personally want to acheive in your driving experience.
