Just as an FYI - One of my clients and personal friends contacted the seller of this car.. After speaking with him made arrangements to fly from Ca to Texas to look at the carand was prepaired to purchase the car on the spot..

Prior to him leaving several phone calls and questions and we were assured that the car was 100% ... By the seller...

My client makes arrangements and flies to Texas to inspect the vehicle.. After driving the car and inspecting he decided to have a specialist in the area take a look at it..

A call was made and turns out that this car was wrecked twice . Originally by the first owner and then a second time by the current owner.. Who infact was not the person representing the car on Ebay.. Apparently the owners friend...

Frustrated my clients calls the seller and of course the seller has no idea of any accidents.. And assures him that he will check with the owner and call him back ASAP.. Well its been over a week and not even the common courtesy of a call to say .. Sorry I didnt know.............

Luckily this was caught and the biggest loss was a plane ticket- hotel stay and his hopes for getting a nice car and he didnt end up getting shafted..


Be careful of anyone selling a car on ebay.. Have it checked regardless of how good the deal is or is not...

Was the carfax clean?

 

I remember this car being offered up about a yr ago on ebay right after the second wreck, I'm positive it's the same car. I remember it was pretty f'd up and needed a ton of work.

How did he find out the car was wreck?

 

The people who were going to inspect it knew about the car.. He called the seller out on it..

Well how bad of an accident was it? If there was not unibody damage and it was fixed right what is the big deal?

 

Good to hear about it... I have been looking at the on ebay for a while. There is another silver one on ebay right now, with a dirty carfax... gotta be careful

 

Unfortunatly carfax is only really good for verifying mileage. You'd be surprised how many cars have been in accidents that are not reported on the carfax report.

 

I just saw this on e-bay last night and thought it was a great deal especially since it was CPO.

 

Just sent the seller an ebay email quick question about if to his knowledge has the car been in an accident, I will let everyone know his response if I get one.

 

Apparently the car was pretty twisted.. This is from a very repatuable source who was going to do the inspection..

 

That's terrible. I am constantly amazed at how many dishonest people/sellers there are...

 

Well in away I understand because the insurance wont total your car so they fix it and you try and sell it and no one wants to buy at the going price since it's been in a wreck! I think the insurance company should make up the difference in what you will get vs what the car would have been worth had it not been wrecked. It might stop some of the dishonest sellers, I said some!
