another vote for the GT2 GT700. Also take your car to get the suspension properly tuned and corner balanced, then you'll be wondering how you could have even thought about trading it in for a 3.

Keep the GT2 stage 4...put money in a moneymarket and wait for the 997GT2...That's what I would do (am doing)...

If you are only doing 4 HPDEs a year and mostly will be street driving your car just keep the GT2. For street fun your stage 4 GT2 is going to be a lot more car than a GT3. LIke someone else stated if you are thinking of upgrading to a GT700 package, you may be a little disapointed in the power of the GT3. Keep your car!

It depends on whether you are into power or chassis. The 997 chassis is superior in terms of feel and in terms of accessable performance. It is a refinement over the 996 and is very noticable in terms of driving dynamics, you know, feel.

The difference from the 996 to the 997 is not readily apparent from a spec sheet but is behind the wheel. I'd say you should drive one and see if you appreciate the difference enough to give up on exclusivity and tq of the GT2. No clear answer here as its purely a personal choice. Having owned 4 966 chassis cars, I personally would make the swap but I'm sensitive to chassis subtleties.

Just wondering what you thought, most people dont compare the GT2 to GT3 handling wise, meanwhile they are damn similar!
Keep the GT-2!

GT-2 with Motons are in a different planet than a stock GT-2; if set up correctly (corner balance, correct spring rates), it can be as "easy" to drive as a GT-3. It is however, more demanding to drive fast and requires total attention/concentration.

No substitute for hp AND torque
