I had the same questions about a roll bar for DE / TT use in a new GT3, so I went down to Santa Ana and visited GMG to look at theirs. They were very helpful and showed me both an uninstalled bar and one installed in a customer's 997S. The bar was very impressive (as was the GMG shop) and had the quality look that is important to a Porsche owner. I will definitely purchase one as soon as I am notified that my GT3 is en route to the US (April).

I have a DAS bar wrapped in leather - for the track I slip in a BreyKrauss harness bar with a 6 point harness.

^^^I am not insulting you by saying this...BUT...

I was made aware that it was acutally LESS safe to use a harness with seats that do not have cutouts for the harness' as a heavy impact could lead to ones shoulders nearly RIPPING off or slipping out of the harness as the straps are not able to support you with the lateral/vertical force they would be allowed with the holes...

If I am wrong, I am sorry to bother you, but I have had MANY racers/DErs tell me that not only could that setup potenitally not work...but could further injure you...

If you have something on the seat that acts as holes that I cant see...again, I am sorry!

The bar looks TIGHT man...absolutely beautiful!

Red face Tequiptment Roll Bar - Suncoast Motorsports

Hey folks,
The 996 Tequiptment Rollbar and GT3 seats are a direct fit for a 997 GT3 or 997. We are installing a complete kit right now. We had the Tequiptment rollbar powder-coated black for our customer, it looks great. We will post the final pictures when the car is finished.

I have this one in my car... but right now I am only using the rear half.. not the front, cause I have to go through the side air vents to install the rest of it.. mounts to the rear shock towers.. def. made the car alot stiffer!

I had the GMG bar installed in my 996 GT3 recently. Great roll/harness bar if you're looking to go "bolt-in". Well constructed and stout(sturdier than the TE bar). The guys that installed it said it was a **** to get in, but once in fit very well. Different fitments for 996/997-sunroof/no sunroof.

good move as that setup...at least for safety is much more dangerous than the stock 3 point belt.
