What if...997 GT2 base is $133K?
If Porsche wanna sell more 997 GT2 than 996 GT2, the price can't be over 175K base. If Porsche wants to sell more than 1000 GT2 in the U.S, the best base price range should be around 155-165K, but I don't think we will see that, most likely the new 997 GT2 base MSRP price is about 175K, or more.
But certainly the price won't be over $200K, if yes, who is going to buy it? Remember an used 04 CGT in good condition only cost $280K now....

PCNA really screwed the pooch on the GT2. over 200k out the door, some poor saps paid 350+, and the market absolutely imploded under them. We saw this with the 996TT initially, and how porsche decided they would take a bath there.
Even the famed G-CT is off the mark. With some dealers having sat on 996GT2s for over three years (one in beantown IIRC still has a car), PCNA has to stand up and figure out how to price cars to protect themselves and their dealers.
That would rationalize a price drop. If you're expecting to walk out the door with one for 150 - it owuld be nice but fanciful. Unless the car is an absolute screamer (and it won't be, they can't go too up market in performance so as to avoid competing with the C-GT in relative terms), there's no reason to suggest that the initial price levels will be supported.

Porsche knows its customer base. They can sell just about anything they like at whatever price. Those that feel the the 997GT2 will sell less than than the 997GT2 are smoking something.
The car will sell for close to what the 997GT2 sold for and they will sell all of them. People buy with their emotions and not their head.

You are correct, where you gettin ur stuff Nick? Must send some over yonder this a way!
I believe Porsche has a fetish as to remaining the "most profitable car mfgr" in the world. I have owned 7 Porsches and have seen my GT3 depreciate over $40,000 in 2 years. I will not buy another Porsche, period.
My C6 Corvette has depreciated $8000.00 in the same time frame.

Please give me some of what you are smoking. Since when do people buy Porsches because of what others "think" it will look like. We leave that for the Ferrari guys.
