Thumbs down

Only way to redeem a question like that is if you drive like The Stig - that guy needs a better sound system!

Here it is, the stock sound system sucks. Although I plan on mostly track use there will also be plenty of times when I will be driving for hours at a time. Any advice on aftermarket improvements would be helpful. Ipod stuff, CD changer, speakers, etc.
You can keep the stock head unit and add Ipod, amps, speakers; whatever you want with JL audio's "Clean Sweep"

Not at all. Got a 2.5 hour ride to the track this Sunday. Just want some better sound on the way.

I was just playin with you, congrats on the car, I'm envious! Enjoy it, and I'm sure there's a lot of good options out there, just don't go putting too much extra weight back there with big subs etc. Go for the good clean sound. A good component set with a mild amp would be perfect, but I'm not too up on the audio scene anymore.

The Sound System is in the boot, just rev the **** out of it and it will make some great music for sure In my M400 I rarely turn the 'hi-fi' system on that I have installed in there (Clarion & Focal speakers), but it is definately good to have when you want it. Cheers!

Just got back from a local sound shop. Seems that the right front tweeter is not working.
His reccomendation was
Replace the tweeters on the dash.
Replace the door speakers.
Put additional speakers in the back, and there are already spots for them with grills.
Add an amplifier.
The amp is the tough part, where to put the thing. Normally under the seats but will it fit if I change the seats out for CGT seats? It can go in the boot but will be a PITA to mount.
All Alpine equipment. Around $1200.00 installed.

Get that tweeter working again and then see if you feel the need to upgrade. I'm not complaining about the basic factory set-up in my RS at all.

Is this the same plug as the PSE exhaust?

OT but can you get pics of how to un plug it?

Thinking out loud, upgrading the sound system may be a waste because this year I'm hoping to get a trailer for track days. That would put an end to most long trips in the RS, the tracks are 2-3 hours away at the closest.

If its anything like the PSE on the Carrera; you just unplug the brown plug (its towards the right behind the intake). I took me a total of 3secs unplug my exhaust.

I was looking at a 997-GT3 yesterday, I have no idea where is the vacuum plug. Can anyone shed some light as to where it is, and what we have to unplug.
