It wasn't me, but I did consider driving into NYC last night. I am having trouble with ruts and uneven pavement in terms of negotiating them without bottoming out the front bumper extension. Traversing speed bumps, driveways and sloped pavement is no problem when taken at a proper angle, but the "at speed" uneven pavement makes me feel like I'm driving my orignal car - 1980 two-tone Toyota Celica. That sucker always bottomed out at speed on a good bump in the road. It was always interesting watching sparks fly up in your rear-view mirror. No sparks in the GT3, just some plastic street cleaning action in the front.

Me and Sam (cooperlee) were driving on the Cross Island, Tapanzee and all over today and the roads were SOOOO BAD with dips like a foot into the ground (reverse speedbumps) LOL... Luckily where i thought my frotn bumper was toast or the lip, i didnt scrape or scratch it once, and the 997 GT3 we were with didnt either.. I think the suspension and rebound is so stiff at speed it doesnt matter, i would say go right ahead and just be careful, but its such a hassle and worry driving these cars on roads like that, definitely not enjoyable to say the least :/

Bumps

I agree. I have two extra plastic lips on stand-by if I really rip one off. I actually appreciate the design because in the first few hundred miles of use, the plastic scrapper is like "training wheels."

front spoiler extension

What is the difference between the front spoiler extension of a 997 GT3 and GT3RS. Is one lower than the other?

Yup even in Miami where it is flat to negotiate most exits/entrances a severe angle is necc. other then that the car is fine as a DD!

I think they are the same height to the ground once on the car, but there is a difference in the mold on both sides acting as an extra diffuser/splitter, its angle like, do a quick search for a pic and you will see what i mean!
