996 GT3 a daily driver? And 1st or 2nd generation 996 GT3? + more GT3 questions!

I'm looking for a new daily driver, have a 350Z right now and I'm done with this car....been driving it for 3 years already so I need something different.

I didnt really like the 996 GT3 at first but my recent visit to the Nurburgring changed my mind completely. Ofcourse a GT3RS would be even nicer but that's just too much fun for me as a daily driver

Would you recommend a 996 GT3 for daily driving? I'm pretty used to spartan cars (I also have a ferrari) so I know it won't be comfortable like a mercdes or anything. Hows the noise inside the car if you drive it for 2-3 hours straight? Heavy clutch in traffic?

2nd question: Would you recommend to go at least for a 2nd generation 996 GT3? Seems like 1st generation is '99 to '03 and 2nd generation is '04 and up.
Not really sure about the differences between the 2, although I've read that 2nd has better brakes?

Final question: I guess most GT3's have been to the track...how bad is this for the car? Is the car pretty much beat if it's been on the ring for a lot of rounds?

Anyway, thanks for the help!!

The clutch is definitely heavy for driving in traffic, the noise wouldnt be any louder than what you would get in the 350Z. The ride is pretty stiff, so if there are lots of bad roads around you may want to keep that in mind. Handles like a champ though, wouldnt be good for driving in snow and such without PASM so good luck in your decision.

I drive my 996 GT3 everyday and love it. The only complaint i have is the car grabs every bevel in the road, but what do you expect from a race car..

I love that you can buy a GT3 and don't have to touch it. I'am a mod freak, but not with this car. The car is perfect right off the lot..

Get the 997 GT3 and solve all your problems. Great street driver and track weapon. For me, it has the best suspension/comfort of any Porsche that I have ever driven.
