The guy in the M3 was a much better driver and that is the only reason he was able to keep up. Check out the lines the CGT is taking he is all over the track he had no clue how to drive that car except on the straight aways where he was able to pull away.

Maybe the cgt dude was new to the circuit in a 500k car versus a 7k bmw ****box. In the beginning the cgt did a pretty clean line then he got a little ratltled, who knows by what. The bmw def drove the line better, no doubt.

Agreed, I love the e30 M3's and would still take a clean example over many new cars today. Turbo'ing it is in the eye of the beholder while I hate to see it done I can understand the want for more power. Nice little vid though.

If this is the French dude and his E30 M3. He has TONS of laps under his belt, hence the better lines!

that original E30 M3 is the most successful touring car in history, if i'm not mistaken. even after driving many newer and much more powerful cars, the old M3 still manages to feel special, on the right road.

Yup, the original M3 will always have a place in my heart.

the m3 is the most successful.

my father used to have amoung others a full works schnitzer E30M3 that was campaigned by jhockim whinklehock (sp?) and to this day is the best car he has ever driven.

theres an 1989 50k E30M3 in pristine condition with an offer on it off 65USD at a local dealer. and that price is just the latest they have refused.

Too many factors:

1. Stock CGT vs. Non stock M3 TT.
2. Driver Experience?
3. $450k Vs. $??

Big difference!!

After posting that I saw that you are in N.Z. but that's still pretty impressive that they are pulling prices like that, in USD, anywhere in the world. Do you happen to know what a new m3 is going to go for in NZ?
