my friend just acquired this baby.

ok, so its not a 997. Its not even a 996. But this is a special car indeed!

964 RS... 4-wheel drive
all original from Porsche
one of only twenty produced
engine modified to 3.8 liters by the Motorsports Division
about 1,100kg

 

#13 of twenty produced. my friend took it to the Porsche dealership here, and they couldn't find the VIN in the database! turns out its not in the regular dealer database, because its motorsports car



and of course it IS 4-wheel-drive after all... so how's this for old-school technology!

Is the millage on this RS real ... It shows only 5k in over 15 years !!

 

964 C4 RS Lightweight. It was a kind of a "skunkworks" project within Porsche, spearheaded by the racing dept. I believe total production is 24 units. There was one for sale at Symbolic here in La Jolla late last year for about $140K or so.

Those ***** you see on the dash control the front and rear differentials, basically you can dial-in over or understeer on the fly. The gauges right above the ***** show the fluid pressure in the diffs, really cool stuff. Some other special features are the dual 959-style oil tanks in the rear qtr panels, lightweight hood and drunk and magnesium Design90 wheels.

 

Stupid question: What do the pull ***** do that have up/down and left/righ?

just dont understd why people put pcm, full leather, sound plus in their 997 rs, that's not real rs anymore imo.

but there are no real rs in usa, because you all get sofa seats and no roll cage.
