Looks like Porsche is going to offer a folding CF bucket seat with thorax airbags for the 08 997. This might be a good alternative to put into the GT3 and RS as opposed to the CGT seats. I'll bet they will cost nearly as much though. Anyone know how much a standard leather sports seat costs?

wow! those are hot. prob one of the nicest oem seats. this will be a hot seller for sure. and they knock off 15-20 lbs per seat i read.

 

I tend to think they will look pretty good, not as good as CGT seats though. I like the fact they have the airbags integrated. However, I can only guess they will cost quite a bit.

They look good, I hope they add them as an option to the 997Turbo.

 

I'll bet they will be optional for the turbo and standard for the US GT2.

 

On another forum they claimed that these new "race style" seats will NOT be available for the GT3 nor the GT3RS...HUH ??

You would think these cars would be the first to get these seats (no word on the GT2) as an option, not "unavailable" .

What gives? Or was the other post wrong?

 

Those drawings make them look ugly. I will have to wait and see what they look like in person.

 

No GT3 or GTR RS will get them as production will have ended on those guys before this seats hits the options list - my guess anyways.
