ken,

we'll all be at the Pony Express 130 on 6/22, and the GAMBLER 100 on 8/22. some may go to the wendover race, but not I.

roland coaxes the rookie across the line first in the 2003 Pony Express 120 class

Anyone that wishes to work the course and have a great time let me know. I have 96 radios to deploy on the Battle Mountain road. Consider joining the group, hang out with Team Porsche and watch, guard a gate and man a radio on race day! Yes we have slideware for a great training session to train new course workers.

Cheers,

R

The NJ crew will be meeting this week to discuss the logistics of our participation in this. The difficulty we are having is justifying the cost, both monetarily and in time, to get the cars there so that we can drive 130 miles.

We just got a rate from our transporter. He is charging us $10K for a round trip chartered transport to and from the Pony Express, June 24-27 event. The transport will hold 6 cars. That equates to just shy of $1700 for round trip transport from New Jersey. We will probably unload in Salt Lake City, UT. The transporter will wait for us while we are there and reload us after the event.
Add $400(?) event fee, airfare, food and lodging and it will be one great time!!!
As of right now, it is me, Sean and Vipertesterossa.

We have 3 more transport spots to fill.

If anyone from the NJ/NY/PA area is interested in a spot, please contact me via PM asap. You do not have to have a Porsche to attend.
Here is a link to the event:

Roland,
If we can fill the transport, 6 rooms more than likely. If we cannot fill the transport, 0.

I keep being reminded by other parties that it is an awful lot of time, effort and expense to drive 130 miles!!

Check the rules before entering though. The highest class you can enter as a rookie (ie haven;t driven there before) only allows you to reach 150mph or less at any point (not the average).

If you are caught above this speed anywhere you get banned.

Seems a bit harsh for cars like the 996TT and GT2.........

Guy

PS I guess we're just lucky that we can use the Autobahns and do 180+ mph in normal driving............
