I just realized how old this thread is. Anyway, love the photos and stories. I actually got goosebumps reading them.

It's worth bumping this thread to keep it alive.

 

He made the first photo in 1963, and that it was his second Porsche (first was in 1961). He says in his information that he was born in 1946 which would put him 17 in 1963 (on his second Porsche) and 15 when he got his first. Some lucky 15 year old.

Steve thanks for the editing, FYI luck had nothing to do with it. I had been working since 11 years old, (a rather strange concept in this time) and starting making payments to my stepfather when I was 15 years old to purchase the car from him so I could drive the car in Ca when I acquired my drivers permit at 15 1/2 years old. Starting working for Vasek when 15 and owned 4 different 356A's by the time I was 18, all bought, traded for by my own hard work I'm now 65 and still working to keep my Porsche habit alive

yes, the 3.9 is by far the best Porsche I have ver owned

No, I ended my snowboarding career at 54, my orthopedic surgeon said he couldn't keep rebuilding my shoulders and knees only mtbike riding for this old guy now

I suggest you follow your own dream, my hasn't been without sacrifice but I am still young enough to start over
