Shouldn't Board owners (and Admins) disclose their special deals to the members?, especially if they value objectivity."

Man you love to always make the jabs

I have dealt with company long before we started 6speed and it took years of twisting the owners arm, who is a friend of mine, to get them on board.

Special deals? Not really any more then you could get if you were a repeat customer of thiers...I have always gotten what I feel are fair deals when I bought previous cars from them.......ohh yes and bought any cab in the dead of winter (that always helps)

In the days of the old 01 TT's that were going nicely over list I walked in one night and got a TT at a touch under MSRP and they had a client for life.

Three thread later and we are going around and around. I think everyone made more out of this than it is. We never had all the facts, and some "speed read" through the post and made up their mind, not knowing even half of the actual facts. It's so easy to jump on the band wagon and bash people. Isn't IT?
If you post a thread say something constructive or don't say anything at all. Don't just write the first thing your brain spits out, it doesn't do anyone any good.

Question

Steve,

I can understand that you had only one 08 allocation and it was sold at MSRP (great). However can you clarify further regarding the newly purchased 08 from another dealer. Was this car an allocated car that had no buyers at the other dealer? or was it a car that was ordered / sold at MSRP by another dealer and then sold to you for some figure above MSRP by the purchaser who was looking to flip the car through his dealer consignment?

To me this would add further clarity to this situation. If on the other hand the 08 was a dealer alloted car that was sold to you above MSRP, whereby some unsuspecting customer lost his allocation because the other dealer went for the money rather than for the client, then I think it is your moral duty as a member of this online community to out this potentially slimeball dealer.

Thanks.

Thanks for the clarification. If you got 1 allocation and sold it at MSRP. You did your job.

Where you made the mistake is taking deposits from more than 1 person. Did you immediately call all your deposit people and tell them they will not get a car. I doubt it. You want to keep them on the hook just in case you can flip them to a GT3 or a Turbo. The last thing you want is one of your customers going elsewhere. That is the way the Car business works....

I don't think you are doing yourself a favor by selling any car over MSRP. All it does is put a bad taste in the mouths of your limited customer base. On the other hand If I was the owner I would have a tough time walking away from a quick $100k for up $$ on a couple three RS cars!! Business is business and it is the car business, not a non profit.

I agree with ya. I think what is wild is Rich who made the post about getting shafted by MMC never came back to tell us how the story ends. I bet ya they gave him a hooker to keep him quiet.
Anyways it is all good.

If I was in charge over there, I would have suggested you make no further posts, Steve(on this topic). You are just keeping this wound open. There is no 'upside' to keep on talking about it, everybody has a pretty good idea of what went down, like r197 said, it ain't non-profit. Even selling a GT3 at MSRP they're making 20k(invoice 92K), so nobody is starving.
If you want to be a member, welcome, let bygones be bygones. But, if you're just trolling for suckers...wrong fishpond!
I assume, at 24, you have other aspirations in life than selling toys to rich guys. This provides a very good lesson in business....the customer is always right, and never engage in internet banter with somebody on line while representing your company, it never looks good nor has a good result.

It went too far because some guys were insulting each other. I would bet the ones that were insulting everybody coudn't buy an RS if it was $130k under MSRP.

I am enough of a repeat Customer to get an RS at MSRP! That doesn't mean I like it when Dealers try and bend over regular customers (and others get screwed). There is that old Western saying that opines "you have to go home with those that brung you".

Porsche Dealers would do well (next recession, just like the last one) to remember that, (as would Board Owners); it is the Members who make the Board not the Sponsors (or the Owners), and if the Sponsors (and Owners) don't bring something of value to the Members then they are "pissing against the wind".

It is better that I jab (your term), than deliver the Mollydooker!

If you are friends with the owner of MMC then I am sure that you can prevail upon that owner to "unscrew" Rich and give him his deal! Or at least you can persuade him to give a lucid explanation (instead of providing an ineffective front man)... afterall he wants the Members as Customers, or do you just want to continue having him as Sponsor (Why?).
