What to buy - Z06, F430, GT3, Gallardo, Exige????
I would save a lot of money and make 2 people happy. With the money saved from choosing the Zo6 over the others, get your wife a wedding ring upgrade and fear none of the other choices(f430, gt3rs, gt3, gallardo, exsige s, cs) on the track.
ps. if your wife already has a nice wedding set, treat yourself to a couple simple upgrades(inexpensive), exhaust, headers, tune, intake, throttle body, race pads then all of the above will need to fear you!
(then you'll have a track monster) and you would still have money left over for a nice cruise out to the Caribbean.

Marc,
If money is a concern - 996 GT3
if not - 997 GT3
before you buy another brand (non-Porsche) try the POC. I really enjoy the POC (people, cars, format, etc).
The 996 GT3 is a great track car that can be had for a good price. You can run it stock in the POC and be very competitive. It is an ok street car because it is a little harsh on the road.
Whatever you do unload the slush box!
Good luck!

1 out of 20 replies choosing the ZO6 doesn't make it a ZO6 thread.
Junkie made it clear that money would be an issue.
the reality of the ZO6 is clear--it just performs at a very high level vs its competitors at a lesser cost.

You can have your disdain for the Z06 (I have seen it all too often from you), and that is your choice but to keep your head in the sand in regards to this car's ability is just plain ludicrous. Perhaps when you are old enough to get behind the wheel of one of these machines you might set your pre-conceived biased opinion aside.
For $70K you can have a track toy that smashes the hell out of nearly everything out there and have $35K (if you get the GT3) to $100K in your bank account.
The guys said plain and simple "Im not a rich man" and you guys are talking to him about getting a $165K+ GT3RS for godsake

I am a little confused to begin with re: the OP request (F430, Gallardo, GT3 all of which are $110K+) but yet says he is not a rich man. If somebody is looking at spending in excess of $110K on a track car/weekend canyon runner and say they are not "a rich man" I'm thinking their priorities are not in order.
