Who in their right mind would not want to hear about a C6Z06 or an Exige or a Viper with that criteria in mind?
I agree, he brought it up in the title so one would think he was really considering it as an option.

In case you are unaware, this same OP posted this exact thread over at CF.
I did not know that, I am familiar with MiniD and I have seen a LOT worse both here and on CF. I understand your position but I think his post was taken out of context.

Porsche, Audi, BMW, MB, Vettes, Lambos, Ferraris et al and I'm sure there are many others that share that view.
So this is "NOT a Porsche forum" ??????

There are large numbers of people on every site that dont own the cars they discuss, I am a memeber of several forums because I am an enthusiast myself, I dont own every car of which I am a forum memeber nor do i have to. My point is that if you dont expect to see bias here you are in the wrong place, unless you're blind you'd know there is more dillusionalism on CF than just about anywhere.

I do expect to see bias here for the Porsche but unlike CF there are other car sections here so I don't consider this just a Porsche forum. I think it is primarily a Porsche forum. There is nothing else over at CF except for other model year Vettes. So yes they are going to be even more so biased over there...........and yes, many are delusional and think they are driving a friggin Buggati for godsake. I have mentioned that before over there

Its all good man. I don't care what badge is on the hood, I like 'em all. Well....... mostly all. All that are on this forum anyway.

Post is already to long, but so entertaining I'll add my 2c! Having tracked some on your list... GT3 if price not an issue--loovv vve that suspension! However, Z06 is the track deal of the day -hot laps with the air con on all day and very forgiving (with safety electronics turned on). Call Spring Mountain corvette school in Phrump NV to try them out. Of course 430 looks the best of all going and coming from the track!https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...es/smLach2.gif

Perhaps I did. I read it the same way Ricky read it. In any event, I have nothing against Mini. I actually think its great that he is the car enthusiast that he is at such a young age and from what I have read (outside of his Z06 comments ) he sounds pretty darn knowledgeable. No tears here Mini.

Back on topic..

I would definitely take a look at the Exige S and the C6 Z06, for the price those two cars deliver lots of fun, performance, and looks. However, I am not sure how your budget is, you should definitely think before spending alot of cash on the other cars you posted, as these are "fun" cars meant for pleasure, not for creating debt for family men. If you can afford it "comfortably" I would look at what GT3RS's are availible as that would be the most fun to take to the track (tied with the Exige S imo, but faster).

Having tangled with Z06's with my GT3 on the track, I feel that I am at an advantage in the corners, but at a huge disadvantage on the straights. You cannot deny the torque of the Z06. Both are great fun cars to track and each has it's pluses/minuses depending on the track layout. A new Z06 is about the same cost as a used 996 Gt3. It's a tough call...

i owned and tracked a exige, 13000 miles in 5 months. it's a great great track car. it forces you to learn how NOT to use the brakes at all, otherwise you will be crawling.

i have played with c6z06 in my 6gt3 and 7gt3. the vette has some serious snot. well set up with proper pads and shox, it is one hell of a bargain car. and it will put up a good fight with any porsche and beating many of them both on straight and in the turns. there's is no question that the current z06 is a great car, but this IS A PORSCHE forum. so we are biased.

now, if you present me a free z06, sure as hell i will track it and run down my GT3 friends. but since i can only afford one useless car, i went with porsches.

i dont think any of use are knocking the vette per se. just different animals.

First of all, I don't think bashing people on this board for posting valid questions is a good thing... First off you don't know the story... My story that is...

It's very true, I am not a rich man... Take that as you will... What I mean is that I'm not the guy that can decide to drive over to the local Ferrari dealership and drive away paying $50-100k over and not think twice about it, and not worry about the hug depreciation and maintenence costs...
If I wanted to buy an exotic, I could sell some of my collectibles and buy one, but I would be streching... I have always wanted an exotic, that's why it's still hanging around on my list, but now that I track my 997S, the exotic isn't fitting into my plan.. That's what I'm talking about.

Does that calify anything?

I am thinking of paying $10k over for a 2008 GT3 that I can order as I like, because the chances of me finding an already built Orange non-RS GT3 is probably not going to happen, therefore I am considering it, although a few people think i'm crazy for paying over MSRP... Am I?
