Yes and happy for now......
GMG sounds good and reasonably priced.

Okay, I just might do that once I get the car. If I am happy with the stock sound, I will probably leave it alone for a while. But then again, I might want a GREATER happiness, in which case, I will have to call you!

Fabryce,
Do you have an exhaust planned for the 996 GT3?

Lemans currently we dont have anything planned..

However if you are looking for a set of mufflers that sound great I would recommend the Cargraphic Sport Sound mufflers. They sound awesome we sell these and have several happy customers with them installed.

If you are looking for performance we have found the Factory Cup mufflers to make the best usable power.

If your in the area stop by the shop sometime.. We usually have a good sampling of "eye candy" at any given time.

cant compare the two really.

i have both.

F430 is a screamer and i have added hyper flow cats and capristo exhaust. the sound it makes is IMO as good as it gets, if you are in the mood.... interestingly, i felt the need to change the 430 exhaust to get the best out of it but i have not had that itch really hit yet with the GT3 (just a matter of time i suspect)

the GT3 is the best sounding porsche (CGT excluded) IMHO. you have a quiet enough exhaust for a DD and an awesome growl when the revs pass 4000rpm.

My summary is ....
You dont need to rev the Ferrari to smile.
You need to rev the Porsche to smile.

PS.. Fabryce - love the sound of the GT3 - would be great to hear some interior vids without the Sport button just to compare to standard. i suspect a few like me use it as a DD as often as they can and wouldnt want to compromise that.

I just happened to drive both last nite back to back (my GT3 with exhaust valve unplugged, friend's F430f1 stock exhaust). I have to say I prefer the F430 sound - it is a smoother and more melodic/buttery note. The GT3 note is great too, especially if you disconnect the exhaust valve. The V8 will always be smoother sounding that a flat 6

Thanks for all the input, guys. Personally, I would be more than happy if the GT3 gives me around 70% to 80% of the enjoyment(in terms of sound) of the 430. In terms of driving dynamics and handlling, I am expecting from the GT3 at least 110% of the 430.

big call to say Gt3 is 110% of an F430 drive

I agree on a track but not on the road

Decide for your self... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aXqh-6pb94 I think the 997 GT3 sounds better then the F430.

a really great sounding car, no doubt. for a porsche, it sounds amazing....but i still think a 430 sounds way more like a screamer!

If you are refering to what I have wrote, I do agree with you and I was refering to at or near the limit handling capability of the GT3(whether on the track or on deserted canyon roads). For overall subjective feeling of driving and ownership experience, it really would not be fair to compare a $120K car to a $240K car.

I agree. The F430 sound's angry, yet melodic and crisp. The GT3 sounds really nice, but it doesn't quite have the F430's pipes, IMO.
