997 GT3 exhaust sound compared to F430?

It seems that a lot of people are very pleased with the engine/exhaust sound of the new GT3. I was wondering how it compares to the F430.

I had a F430 for about a year and a half(8000 miles), and one of the most pleasurable experience about the Ferrari was the sound of the engine/exhaust, not only at full-throttle but I loved the way the sound varies depending on RPM and load.

I have a GT3 coming late this month(already on the ship) and I am not sure whether I should have my hopes up in the sound department for the GT3. Even aside from the sound, I know it will be a GREAT car, but it would be very nice if the sound is anything comparable to the F430 in terms of the level of joy it can give to the driver.

As for the F430, I would have kept it longer if it wasn't for the annoying creaking noises(coming from front suspension, chasis, interior?) that becomes too apparent when the windows are rolled up. The noises went completely away after the 5000 mile service(after they tightened everything up and sprayed lubricants all over the interior cracks) but it all came back after several hundred miles. I just drove with the window down all the time and that put a smile back on my face

I would especially welcome input from people who have driven both cars.

Thanks.

TCM is infamous around these parts
They are completely different sounds. Neither is bad... but I would have to say the F430 is going to bring more joy to an average person's ears. The GT3 is more growly and deep compared to the 430s snappy snarl (god I feel like an author, *haha*). That being said, the GT3 is a great car and the flat six gives off its own sounds that can be plenty much as enjoyable. I am sure you will not be dissapointed with the 997.

I have driven and heard numerous 430's. I actually don't like the sudden burst in volume from valve close to valve open at 4000 rpm. Also, at open valve, it sounds kind of monotonous. I unplugged the vacuum hose plug in the engine compartment of my RS and so its open all the time. The sound is now consistently loud but it changes tone depending on rpm. I think its the best sounding exhaust I have ever owned, including stock 996, 997, Fabspeed, AWE, PSE, Europipe, Cargraphic, and also stock and Tubi Ferraris. However exhaust sound is a very subjective thing, so I am sure lots of people would have different opinins on this.

Thanks, that is good to know. I do hear that Porsche has paid a lot of attention to the sound department for the new GT3.

The F430 has a sweet sound stock. Ferrari has done a wonders tuning the symphony of 8 cylinders.

We have now released our WC Sport Center Section for the GT3 & RS and we feel it finally lets the GT3 engine sing.!!

The sound is awesome..

Check it out the details here.

Not sure how they compared. But I have to say the exhaust tone is what I love most about the 997GT3. No matter how I modded my 993TT and 996GT2, they were never even close to the angry sound of the 997GT3.

It is good to know you are very happy with the sound of the RS. I assume that it probably sound the same as a regular GT3? As for the sound of the F430, I do prefer the sound of the 360 modena over the F430, but I still enjoyed it alot.

I love the "angry" sound. If the GT3 sounds very angry, I will be all smiles!

i dont think there are enough words to tell you how f*ing good that sounds...a 430 doesnt hold a candle to the sound of that GT3.

That sound pretty good! Not as "exotic" sounding compared to a Ferrari, but more raw and racy.

Thanks guys :

We have installed several systems on local cars and people love them!!

Those of you who have ordered systems your orders are going out on Tuesday!!

It really transforms the way the car sounds and is completely emissions legal.

If you are in the neighborhood and want to here what it sounds like "live" please feel free to stop by the shop.

Jlee- you aren't far away from the shop. You need to stop by and have a listen. I can assure it makes a 430 sound pretty wimpy when the GT3 or RS is at full song!!

Go to our website and click on the second You Tube video to here at full song.

There are a few sound clips/video's including a GT3 RS drive by...

Trying to be as objective as possible, how much of an improvement do you think this is compared to stock?
