Clear Bra on the GT3

Placed clear bra over the entire hood and front end. I was a little hesitant to do the full hood, but my Carrera had lots of chip marks above the standard bra. The clear bra over the entire hood looks great with only 2 tiny seams at the very top. My friends are always asking why I didn't do the hood!

I used ventureshield this time, since I have not been happy with the 3M-esp on white cars. The last 3 pictures are of my wife's car which was done 1 year ago. You can really see the discoloration. Also the 3M guys couldn't do the full hood- no custom work.

If you are in Seattle, I would highly recommend Metropolitan Detail in Lynwood. Very good service and they give you a free loaner car while your car is being worked on.

There was another posting on another forum that the 3M product did not look good on a black car either. The owner claimed it was more of a problem when the car was dusty, and he regretted putting it on. I am told though it can be removed "easily"...uh huh.

Let us know how you like the Ventureshield. My GT3 is Basalt Black so I am holding off putting anything on it until I have done a little more research. The 3M product is available to me locally, but those who have Ventureshield seem to like it.

Have 3M shield on my GT3RS and it looks great. Its as good as the installer who puts it on.My RS is Black. In a week I hope to have my LP640 done. I use Detailing Dynamics in NY and Auto Supershield in Fla.These guys are pros.Good luck! I am also very very picky with my cars!

I have had the 3M stuff on black and silver cars and IMO, it looks pretty good. On the light colored cars the 3M stuff really looks bad- as you can see above. Of course the installer is important, but I was told that the yellowing is due to the glue in the 3M product.

I did a full custom install. No seams on hood or fenders. Used ClearShield.

Great stuff. But like with tint, the installer is everything.
