Well you know how sensitive of a matter weight is when it comes to comparisons. Usually no car weighs as much as the factory claims. Since grussel says 3200 and several people who have put their cars on a scale say a tad over 1450kg without full tanks I prefer the real world figure than the one on the brochure.

True Gabe, but that would mean that the 996 GT3 is probably heavier as well. Also, most scales that people use are not very accurate (even though they think they are). You'll commonly see variances of a 100+lbs or more from one scale to the next with the exact same car.

Regardless of their real weight, according to Porsche..there's a 32 lbs difference between the 996 and 997 GT3s.

Well, I don't believe that the GT3 is very close to the 997TT. Especially with the overboost. And of course acceleration is not a matter of peak hp rather than how long you can produce it before you upshift.
