Street Tires/996 GT3 - Which would u buy?

The rears (Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's) on my 2004 GT3 are now showing cords on the inside of the rear driver tire and the other rear is going as well - 11k miles. Between the PS2's, Pirelli PZero Rosso's, Yokohama ADVAN Neova and Toyo Proxes T1R (the rears on Toyos only come in 295/35/ZR18) which would you choose for a street tire in Florida? Does the different Toyo size mean that I should not choose these?

I have had great luck with the Toyos in our old Cayenne S and Boxster so these would be my preference if the different rear size is not an issue.

A quick reply would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your input

The forum search function isn't working for you? This subject along with most other posts has been beaten to death. Bottom line- Stick with the Porsche N spec tires. The Pzero's suck in the rain by the way but they do have a Porsche N spec rating. The Neova does not have the Porsche N spec. Why am I even bothering? Search the forum and then go to www.tirerack.com . Personally I use the PS2's

Without a doubt - Yok Advan Neova AD07
Closest thing to an R-compound tire you can get.
Great wear, Great stick, Great wet, but heavy and noisy.

I'll second that call for the Advan Neova AD07. They are long lasting and nearly as sticky as a race tire. I have been exceedingly happy with them.

PS2's for sure. Had them on my GT3 for 2 years and loved them. The PZero Rossos suck ***.

The PS2's are the tires but if you want to consider costs I would recommend the Nitto Invo. It is a great tire that's very underrated.
I have a set on the RS4 and when the Pirelli Corsa's go, I'll get them for DD. for the GT3 and RS.

There is good reason why Porsche replaced the cups with P.Corsas on all the later production 997GT3.They are very versatile tires due to fact that they warm up faster than the Cups on the track and stickier than PS2 on the streets.
They are OEM tires on my Stradale as well. However, the down side is that they don't wear well.

I'd give the Continental Sportcontact 3's a try. They offer virtually the same dry performance of PS2's, excellent wet performance, extremely comfortable for DD, and wear longer than most of it's competitors.

Best street/track/price/wear tire for 996GT3 is the AD07.

As a driver's tire, the PS2s suck, but are prefect for crusing as they are quiet and comfortable; because you live in Florida, and are getting 11k miles on a set of tires I'd say stick with the PS2.

Bridgestone Potenza 050a Nearly as sticky as PS2's, 30% less expensive, quiet on the street.

For track, go with an R compound
