If Ferrari can make the Scuderia check in at 2755 why can't Porsche get under 3000 lbs?
That Scud weight you quoted was dry weight, the GT2's is quoted with fluids. Huge difference. Surprised that an admin would post mis-information like this.

Okay sounds like I jumped the gun on this one. You guys have reassurred me that the GT2 will not be outperformed by the Scuderia.

WHEW I was worried reading the specs, but as many of you pointed out Ferrari overpromises and underdelivers while Porsche does the exact opposite.

Okay I feel better now, thanks!

To be honest I could care less which is faster. If money wasn't an object at the current point and I could get on the list for a 430S then there is absolutely no doubt in my mind I would get the Ferrari.

There's so much more to lap times than power\weight ratios.

I give scud zero chance.

The scrappy ,overachieving, , porsche street cars have for the most part always outperformed its ferrari equivalents. The CS I think was never under 3000 lbs. A few guys on f chat weighed their cars with very little gas in it and I think the concensus was that it always was over 3000. As for US spec. cars, I think the scud will be alot heavier than the Euro version. From what I hear, the lexan rear window is not DOT compliant.

Ferrari's are no longer performance icons, that throne has vanished from them. It's good to see that they are willing to put up a fight though. I'd put my money on the GT2 to be faster though. I think the Scuderia will be closer to the Z06 maybe a tad faster, and the GT2 will punish them both IMO.

Has anyone seen that racing league they have for Ferrari's, it's the worst road racing you can watch on T.V., the guys SUCK at driving, the commentary puts you to sleep, and the whole thing is bad in general. They did VIR not long ago and the leader spun off the track and still passed everyone (of whom most spun in the same spot) to go from last back to 3rd or so, in a 30 minute race. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

NOW thats what i want to see,i like the 997 GT2 (love the 996 GT2 lol),however a GT2 RS sounds hot especially with Wider fiders like the 993 GT2 and a nicer **** etc to set it appart from the 911 lineup especially the Turbo and the Gorg GT3. The Vette ZR-1,now that will be the trouble maker especially considering the C6 Z06 so far has done well.

I would expect the 530 Hp of the Porsche GT2 to be underestimated as always ....

The GT2 will be a beast.

not such thing as GT2RS. Porsche needs the GT3RS for homologation racing purpose not for marketing purpose.

They are both so close that driver weight/skill is what will make the difference.
