Sorry to read a GT2 has claimed a victim in a SCCA regional race. Mr. Dave Pistole was fatally injured in a single-car on-track incident at Heartland Park, Topeka, when his GT2 left the course near the track's turn one. After leaving the pavement the car crossed back over the course and struck a barrier.

Check that previous post. It was a 911 in the GT 2 class.

Guy,
check out the special BBS is making for Manthey, seen on their GT3 in the last Excellence magazine -- i bet you can spend $15K!!! ib europe BBS or cargraphic racing [17.19 # for GT2] probably your best best? anyone else?

the evil GT2 teaches one smoothness better than other cars, as the cost of rough is high!!! roll it on, roll it off, brakesm steering, power, transfer!!!!

Watt, where did you get the Cargraphic weights from?

I've been quoted they weigh 24lbs and 26lbs by the UK importer.

Who has definitive wheel weights for GT2 wheels?

Guy

Guy,

Lord of the Blings Jack has them, please search, we've talked about many of them.

Tyson was quoted 16# front 17# ?? rear for the RACING MESH cargraphic....when he and i were about to buy them.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...graphic+racing

but i bought Jack's fikse profils, and i said, you will be astounded the difference the lighter wheel makes -- you'll have a GT3 with GT2 power!

The forged stars (meaning forged center) Cargraphic wheels were quoted to me at 17lbs. front and 19lbs. rear.

BBS also has a new 3-piece aluminum racing wheel which apparently weighs 13.5lbs. for the front and maybe 15lbs. rear.

Jack,

Do you have list of comparitive wheel weights for GT2 size, as I gather you have already researched this in depth.

Whilst I have searched the previous posts here, there seems to be some contradicting information. For example Cargraphic are quoting me much higher weights for their wheels (maybe the wrong wheels?) and also Carnewal quote the stock '02 GT2 wheels as being 25/31.7lbs each..................

The regular Cargraphics do not have the forged center, and thus they are heavier...

Hammann,

When I spoke to Cargraphic UK, they said the forged centres were the same design as the cast (albeit made by forging). They were thus the same weight, but were much stronger.

Guy

PS I am speaking to Manthey about their one-piece BBS Magnesium wheels, they look gorgeous and are about 16lbs each or thereabouts. They are very expensive though.

Hi Guy:

I'm absolutely certain about the weight (28/33) of the Gt2 solid spoke wheels -- I had them on a scale with and without tires. BTW, the new '04 style GT2 wheel weighs approximately 4-5 lbs less per wheel.

As for other wheels, I haven't researched the weight of all offerings. I was most interested in either Fikse, HRE or Kinesis. All of those wheels are 3-piece modular wheels with forged centers and aluminum rim halves. All of them weigh w/in a pound of each other. In the traditional stepped lip design (not reverse drop/lip) and Gt2 sizes, the weights are ~ 20 and 22 lbs, front and rear, respectively.

Yes I have a .pdf file that contains the picture though I'm not sure how to extract the picture from it. I'll try Monday when I next get to the work PC, as thats where the file is.

The Manthey wheels are 9x18 and 11x19 and have GT3 offsets, so although they can run the 315 rear tires (Pirelli recomend an 11inch rim for 315 Corsa) as per GT2, they need a small spacer at the rear for wide-body cars. Of course Manthey have a special lightweight spacer available................
