Anyone using a Gallardo as a daily driver
What kind of comment was that? Sorry Assrod but I dont usually don't participate in the 16 yr old internet wars.
I simply stated that if I had a Gallardo I wouldn't park it in crowded areas or leave it alone for long periods of time and for reasons of attracting attention and lack of praticallity I've been swaying away from the idea of a G and more towards a Porsche. On top of that there is snow & salt on the ground 7 months out of the yr up here.

You're off to a great start here. You seem to be all over the map if you're considering a used 996 and/or a Gallardo. So I suggested for you to consider a Veyron also. Just trying to be helpful.

Also listing a car in your sig that you don't own is really lame.

If you aren't driving your car, your car owns you. Life is fragile, a Lambo is arguable so, but should that stop you from doing what you want? Enjoy it in the best of health. I deal with the same issues (attention +/-, parking issues, other drivers, hazards, etc etc) but every driver deals with it also. From time to time i get annoyed with it but in the end, I enjoy myself more on the aggregate. **** it, its worth every second. I can't speak from experience but when I do get a Gallardo or comparable ride, I intend on DD. In the end its only money and you can't take it with you so if you can afford to, do it.
Couldn't of said it any better. I also agree with Dinko. Especially with the new 07 and 08 E-Gear, I was told from OC Lambo, that they could with stand everyday driving. But every car could with stand everyday driving, but when you get into the $150,000 range, that is when its about the resale value more than anything.
I have 11k miles on my car....I drive it 3-5 days a week. Never had a problem....cars move over when I come up behind them. Parking was a problem....then I upped the insurance. Now if it is gone when I come back I get to buy a Murci.....there are no negatives. Far more satisifying than a Porsche, far rarer than a Ferrari 360/430. I have been a meandering sports car purchaser for many years, till this point. I have owned Porsche turbo's, an NSX, and M3's, driven Ferrari's, there is nothing like a Lamborghini.
Only other cars I would consider at this point would be a Pagani Zonda F or a Koenigsegg CCX or a used Mc Laren F1.

I really like what you said, saw you and the guys do the caynon run. What do you think about the Superleggera?
You're here a whole 2 weeks, and already calling people names?

Yuppy.
No, you said "when I get" which implies, followed by the 996 or 997 options, that you're in the market.
You always seem to be putting people down and talking smack in all your posts. What's wrong with you, exactly? Don't you have anything constructive to say?

the big difference comes in with the attention it recieves, and how many people have no respect for other's stuff. For me when I get the gallardo I can dd because my commute is from garage to garage on a winding road. If I had to run errands after work I'd leave it home because I'd be afraid to park it.
And I agree with bprime in that I wouldn't need much more storage than the passenger area.
Everyone seems to be getting hung-up on storage space and attention. Daily driver doesn't = kids hauler or grocery getter. The OP was primarily asking about reliability and drivability. It seems like the Gallardo does very well in those two categories.
Axelrod - A Porsche TT and an '04/'05 Gallardo are very much in the same price range.
The Gallardo is the most versatile supercar in existence today. Why? Because you CAN daily drive it (albeit a matter of character and taste), then you can turn around take it to the track, or simply be the admiration of your friends/community.
Porsche is a close second, just much lower in the "admiration" category. Just too many of them around, and unfortunately they all look the same.
In reference to the ******* "haters" factor.... they should all be skinned alive.
My Gallardo will be daily driven, but I'm also not going to park it anywhere even remotely questionable.
Just common sense.

Haha, seriously? We pretty close to each other. In the NJ suburbs you see P-cars everywhere. They're a dime-a-dozen.
Ever since Lambo Bergen County showed-up, I definitely see more lambo's.
But, still rare.
