i wouldn’t call the gallardo exactly slow. maybe to a z06 or modded viper but as far as most exotics its anything but slow.

Stock Viper, too..

I think a stock pre 08 Viper and a lightly modded, 6 speed, 04 G might be a good race, but I doubt the Gallardo would beat it still.

Ya, I am the same way when it comes to speed. But, with this car, it is a little different. Even though I wish it had an extra 100 HP, just looking at gets me excited...

I wonder if the 06+ with the 20 extra horses and shorter gearing would make a noticeable difference.

it makes a fairly sizable difference actually...but that said, the Gallardo (other than I guess the superlaggera and the lps) were never meant for speed alone like already said.

The 06+ is actually noticeably faster..

But either way, they both have some *decent* mod potential. Nothing like a 911 Turbo, but Fabspeed/BMC intake + some exhaust + some software/ECU can add a good 30hp and reduce 40 lbs if I recall correctly. Combined with some lightweight wheels and I'm sure you'd notice some more responsiveness and down-low pick-up.

The gear ratios in the trans are different, so it 'feels' faster. The 20hp bump that the 06's got was negligible. You could get more than that out of a set of filters and exhaust.

Depends on if it's an E-gear or manual. There weren't too many for the manual cars, but the E-gears had a few updates (mostly pertaining to clutch engagement and drivability).
