what is a decent deal on a 04 Gallardo?
A couple friend of mine have more than 50,000 miles and they still pull very hard. As for service wise they have only done the routine maintenance service and obviously clutch or some ware and tear stuff.
I've been watching eBay & cars.com for many, many months, so I can probably chime in here somewhat accurately...
Trust me, I know, I was going to buy a "no stories" Orange 04 I found on this forum and after a PPI, I was shocked to find out the various issues the car had that the owner vehemently disputed...
I have been looking without luck for so long I am getting frustrated...

The gallardos don't seem nearly as "fragile" as some of the other cars in this price point.
That sounds very reasonable. Personally I am looking at 15-20K mile cars for A) price reduction, B) assumption that most of the warranty issues have been sorted by then, and C) I have the confidence that this is a solid engine/drivetrain and that it will go the distance.

It seems like you have done your home work in searching for a Gallardo and from what I can tell you will be able to get one in the very near future. The Lamborghini has a lot of German engineering after Audi took over (Thus AWD) so the overall reliability has improve as well as safety. I am very confident you will not be disappointed and look back after your purchase. Please be sure to post pictures of your G!! Good luck!

Seems like everything out there is E-gear for whatever reason. I'm not in a rush. It took me months to find my 996 way back when and this will be do different.
And they must run pretty hard without getting pull over. I know I would if I was a cop in a Gallardo!
reality remains that the right 04 with low miles and the right papers will still bring mid 90's...Some manheim cars sold for 70's and 80's but those are not the perfect papers and great oprions with new clutches etc...I PPI 4 G cars befor ebuying mine and all 4 were E gear cars. All 4 had less than 10% left on oriinal clucth and would cost 8K to fix with bearings. Those still sold at mid 80's as they were clean cars despite the clutch. Mid 90's is a great deal on the right 04. Low 90's is a sick deal. BUT lets keep in mind that a 80K car without papers that needs 12K worth of work is not worth the same as a perfect car that needs nothing with papers for 95K.
The 3 K you save will come back to haunt you...without mentioning that if 3k keeps you from bying the right lambo, you might want to reconsider purchasing a LAMBO to begin with. Its not cheap to fix and things do break, even if the car was perfect,.
