Ecu Mods
Ecu Mods
Does anyone know anyone who is capable of modding the Lamborghini ECU? I know many people can do the Porsches, and Lambo should be the same. I have a shop in CA ready to dyno tune. Any ideas.
I know close to nothing about the Lambos but I wonder how much gain you would get from an ecu upgrade.
The turbos (all cars) get an easy boost from ecu upgrades since it is so easy to just increase the boost and remap the timing and fuel.
ECU upgrades on non boosted engines usually don't do much. It might not be worth the effort and investment.

The Lambo motors tend to be set to run very rich. There is actually quite a bit of power to be picked up. Also i will either be porting the heads, adding headers, larger throttle bodies, extrude hone intake, and re-do my nitrous, or i will go Twin turbo, so we need to get into the ECU.
wow allanlambo, that is an admirable project and i look forward to hearing its progress. don't see too many people modifying lamborghinis.
i was once referred to get my ecu custom dyno-tuned at The Racer's Group, they did a dyno-tune for a guy with a Merc i bought stuff from and he made significant power with it, and he did several race-prepped m3's there too. not sure if they do lambos, but i didn't think they would do Merc's either...so maybe give them a call? they really seem to know what they are doing, although they are quite far away from Maui.
are the parts you are getting custom fabricated? i know that extrude-hone processing the intake is a custom job as extrude hone will process it, but how about the rest? i don't think i have never seen companies sell throttle bodies for them, but headers and stuff maybe some japanese companies like MS Racing or so?
as a side note, i was just browsing some lambo forums, and noticed that the diablos in some cases did dyno quite lower than i would have expected, by lamborghini standards. is it like you said the AFR was very rich and conservative or do lambos have higher drivetrain percentage loss, or was it just an isolated case?

Alex from Sp Engineering dynoed both his Diablo 6.0 and his 996TT, which had exhaust on it. The Diablo put down 447rwhp bone stock, the Porsche did 380 something.
All parts are being custom made. Ill contact the Racers Group and see what they say. My car has already been shipped to CA to SP Engineering to start the process.
Alex's Diablo now has headers, exhaust and a 100 shot of Nitrous and it put down 550 rwhp.
