JC- Can you (or anyone) recommend a website/publication I can visit to research these cars? I'm interested in getting a used car similar to what you just purchased, but I need to educate myself. I'm sure you went throught the same process. I want to know things such as changes in model years, problems with each model year...etc.
Why did you pick an 04? I see many 04-05's priced very aggressively and it just adds to my itch.

i'd prefer reasonable mileage 04 (like 20k miles) than a low mileage 04 that hasn't been driven. my car had a new clutch put on just 1k miles ago and new fluid svc and brakes. and it was less than 1/2 of original price and the condition of the car was pristine with no scratches, paintwork, accidents, etc. 06's are at least 30-40k more so it didn't make sense to pay another 50% more for them (if you're buying an 04 for 80k, another 40k translates to paying 50% more)
useful sites are:

the car rides like a german car...a perfect upgrade from 911's. all the 911 guys that have ridden in my car now are hovering on lamboland
guess i've been a pretty good lambo evangelist
congrats!. i did the same almost 2 years ago got mine with 3k miles put 10k on it so far. 04 egear gallardo's are completely fine with a software update to the egear ECU software. i also got a 996tt last year
A good friend of mine removed some vacuum hose on his '06 Gallardo and it really woke up the exhaust. Sounded like aftermarket. Anyway car looks awesome. Good Luck.
that's actually on a F430 was posted awhile ago on fchat
Congrats on your G purchase. I pulled the trigger and purchased my 04 about 4 months ago. I kept my Porsche as a DD. What a great car! You are right about looking for a 04 that has a few miles on it rather than one that has been garage kept. Find one that has been well maintained and with records and you cant go wrong. Have fun in your Gallardo :-)
grocery run
Drove the G to the grocery store and some people come out, basically looking like this
and one guy shouts "Holy F%&#, it's a Lamborghini!" and his friend says "Yeah No S@#$ Sherlock", the reactions are priceless
