Beat up by a Lambo owner
Beat up by a Lambo owner
I was selling a 1995 Jetski on ebay when I got an email from "Bob" he wanted me to call him. I called and he asked what my "Buy it now" was
I told him $850 but I would take $800. He proceded to tell me that they are not going for more than $500 on line. I explained I didn't need the money and just assume keep it for that. He said well will you take $750 since it needs a battery. I Said sure. He then asked if he could pick it up tonight.(this is at 7:30 and he lives 2 hours away) So I pull into the parking lot where I met him and what does the huge sticker on the back of his truck say Lamborghini. I asked him if he had one. Turns out he has an 83' European Countach w/23000kil on it and shows me the picture.
So I got beat up for $50 on an $800 jetski buy a guy who ownes a Lamborghini. Actually Bob turned out to be a real nice guy and was a pleasure doing business with him. One odd thing though he said he needed to see if the bank had approved his $800 loan. just f%ckn' with ya's he paid cash.

Being in the banking business, most people with money I've known had money because they were financially conscious, managed their spending and knew how to save. The ones that had the "baller" image usually had great cars and great houses with even greater loans and mortgages
exactly...i see nothing wrong with this...i walked into a ski shop driving a porsche rocking a rolex and haggled with the guy until he knocked off an additional $30 off some snowboard boats I was looking at to come closer to a price i saw online...
but hey, why throw money away? they say many small leaks can sink a great ship...

Sounds like myself.
Quick story.
Two near by neighbors. Both are in their 40's. One has the million dollar pool and drives a Ferrari. The other has a very nice home, paid for and drives an older Cadillac CTS.
After many rounds of casual money talk, I have asked for advise/tips from the Cadillac guy only.
I am kind of in between. Serious weakness for cars. Sigh.
