New to Lambo and trying to pick one .. help?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to pick up a lambo to go with the 996TT (which will remain my track car). It's mainly for driving (bling) round town and highway rac...*cough*cruising.

I know all the numbers/specs but I have no idea if there's a particular bad year / run of cars etc. Could someone help and see if any of the following three stand out in particular?

(I'm in Japan so mileage in km and price in err yen - yup they're very high compared to US)

1. 2009 Gallardo, 0.2km mileage, 15.8m yen
2. 2008 Superleggera, 2.0km mileage, 16m yen
3. 2008 LP560-4, 0.4 km mileage, 20.5m yen

Personally I like the LP560-4 look, but Superleggera is such a unique and special car. But the 09 Gallardo seems reasonably price (and with warranty as well!)

Help me pick!

Thanks.

Ron

Hi Ron! I'd like to point out that the Gallardo you stated in the first point can not be an 09 Gallardo , as the pre LP560 Gallardo was produced only up until 2007 (Including the Spyder version) and the LP560 was introduced as a 'refresh' in 2008.

The Gallardo SL is a great track car and can be used for city driving , but I reckon the changes/improvements that the 560 carried over to the Gallardo range are difficult to overlook. If you are looking for a highway cruiser/town cruiser , it won't get any better than the 560. The G SL is a purpose-built track car that can be used on the road but the 560 is an overall better road car and has big improvements (power and transmission) that suit road use.

So given the fact that you already have the 996TT as a track car and want a fast/easy to use cruiser , the 560 is a very good prospect for that!

Perdition is infamous around these parts
It would be a toss up between the SL and the 560 for me but in your case you can't go wrong with the 560. Whichever car you personally like the best be sure to get an authorized dealer to do a PPI before you purchase. It's money well spent and will give you piece of mind that the car is mechanically sound.

560!!! If your going to CRUIZE on the freeway a standard Gallardo might not give you justice. The lp560 is guaranteed to put the hurt on all but the enzo and the enzo won't be far off. The lp560 horsepower wise is underated it has more like 600+hp

Thank you very much. Looks like the shop is putting up bogus ad for the first G then! Sounds like there isn't a doubt from anyone that the 560 is the way to go - and I like the look better as well - will get a PPI on it
