1000whp TTG Vs 1000whp GTR. who wins?
Lamborghini reports the curb weight at 3400.... then add in all the various options.... The turbo system doesn't add to much, I also have a speaker box and amp from the previous owner in there, which is probably 40 pounds...
Jeez.. I was under the impression that a Gallardo was around 3100-3150 for a 6spd G. I know the Turbo kit add weight but you also loose the heavy stock exhaust as well. Not saying that it will balance out, but I didn't think it would add 200-300lbs on top of the driver.
I would not be suprised if the tranny in the GTR is worth at least a tenth per shift in a drag race. depending on your trap speed, you would have to shift at least 3 or 4 times. So the tranny alone is proabably good for at least 3/10 to 1/2 a second on a drag strip.
I wish you would have re-ran the GT2 after Tym made some changes to your car's top end performance, Jamie. I would have loved to see the results afterwards.
I will be able to get some runs in with some Porsches and seek some revenge for ya when I get my car back from Switzer..=)

im glad at the prospect of seeing all these cars at the drag-strip. i feel like ppl forgot the 1/4 mile and replaced it with 60-130 & the standing mile...im a fan of using all 3
No need to beat around the....cactus!
I have said and stand by the fact that a GTR transimission is a 100-150 whp equalizer (not 200, that is optimistic). In the race with Jamie, he was down 100 and at the hit, you can see the GT2 LOSE ground on all the shifts....the GT2 starts pulling pretty hard up top while in gear and everyone knows that a GTR is a top end brick (atleast that was my personal experience)...it's not surprising that on the big end the GT2 pulled but from the hit, the GT2 was losing ground on the shifts. Also, we're looking at a vid of 750-850 whp cars. I still stand by my statement that a 1000 whp will be VERY tough to beat on the street.

The GTR was down about 100rwhp then? Even with the magic tranny that everyone is talking (not referring to you Jamie) about it got beat by the 6spd manual Porsche. I'm not sure I agree with people saying the GTR has a "200rwhp" tranny advantage... lol. I guess it depends on who's driving the manual

There's no doubt the trans in the GTR helps in a race, no one can shift a manual trans as fast as the GTR shifts!! How much, its hard to say. There are way too many variables when it comes to a race, especially with different cars. I believe we will be able to answer the question that started this thread though in a few months. I believe it will be a good race, with the GTR getting out on the first few gear changes, but I believe the G will come around it around 150mph or so. If the race were 40-150, GTR all day IMO, just because of the tranny. The faster the speeds, the better chance the manual G has. Either way, it won't be a slaughter in anyone's favor.
With that said, Jamie is gonna get DRUGGGGGGGGGGG down the Mexican highway!!!
