I'm really torn between these two and want to pull the trigger on one of them in the next week. I realize this may be a biased forum but could I get some honest opinions on which you guys prefer? Is an 08 gallardo a big step up?

They are both great cars. I owned two F430s (coupe and spider). I prefer the shape and look of the F430 to the Gallardo. However, I believe the Gallardo will be easier and cheaper to own and drive. If you are thinking about upgrades the G is also easier and cheaper to upgrade in performance. The G may also be a better daily driver.

 

funny how people differ on such things,I dont own the 430 but driven quite a lot before i bought a gallardo spyder.I thought the ferrari is actually the sharper driving machine and easier to drive on a daily basis,it rides better and has better visibility,I also think the gallardo is one of the true automobile beautys of all time,and much prettier than the 430,i guess it depends on your tastes.
I found the gallardo more fun ,and the ferrari steering is too light for my tastes.Check out clarksons video on you tube comparing them,he's right about the gallardo ,it just makes you smile constantly.

But then again, I'm glad I don't. I've been batting those two around for the last two years - and I STILL haven't come to a decision.

(Now that the DB9 Volante is out, and the R8 Spyder, I'm completely lost)

 

G hands down..f430 is slow and definitely not built as well to just name a few reasons..
