Reliability Gallardo vs Murcielago

Guys I'm weighing up whether to go with a gallardo or Murcielago. I know the gallardo's are really durable great cars. I can't find much about the Murcielago. I'm thinking with the price difference in the used market, it may be worth stretching to the BAT MOBILE!! But only if they are as reliable! Any input would be greatly valued....Thanks!

IMHO - if reliability is the deciding factor go with the Gallardo. Audi drive train.

Murci was the last car fully designed by Lambo as an independent effort. Read into that what you will, but knowing Audi was involved heavily with the Gallardo, that fact alone would push me in the G's direction if reliability (and parts availability) were my main concerns.

From my research, reliability on the G is awesome, Murci isnt That bad, just expect to pay more when it comes to servicing. And look at it this way, for what you pay for an 03 murci, you can get into an 06+gallardo

I honestly do not think the Murci guys drive their cars enough to even know the major maintenance services, except for the annual/biannual checkups. I still see cars (03-07) with only a few thousand miles on them.

There's 3 of us Murcis locally that buck that trend hopefully. My 03 has 17K miles, a buddy of mine just got an 06 roadster with 25K miles (and still on original clutch), and another buddy with an 02 and 13K miles. We all probably put 3-4K miles per year. I don't know how these other owners put so little miles on their car, I often feel I'm not driving enough!

On a side note, another buddy of mine has an 04 Gallardo with 25K miles...not one hiccup, and it's an egear too.

As has been said many many times, buy the best car you can and get a thorough PPI and ALL service records. The Murci will cost more in annual maintenance and repairs of course
